Ada Ruth Banks Barnes, 70, of North Middletown, died Friday, February 10, 2017 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. She was born December 14, 1946 in Winchester to the late James Banks and Helen Jewell Neal.
Ada moved to North Middletown two years ago from Jeffersonville. She was a member of the Full Gospel Light house in Clay City and attended Cornwell Christian Full Gospel and Upper Salt Lick Church of Christ. Ada enjoyed reading, going to church, camping, shopping, cleaning, cooking, vacationing in Tennessee and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family, church family and friends.
Survivors include; eight daughters, Lisa Crouch (Ivan) of Salt Lick, Gail Thompson (Jeff) of North Middletown, Tammy King (Ottis) of Frenchburg, Judy Wilson of Means, Ashtyn Davis (Michael) of Jeffersonville, Bethel Bishop of Lexington, Angela Barnes of Mt. Vernon and Mandy Barnett (Jimmy Dale) of Clay City; two sons, Pete Barnes of Paris and Charlie Barnes (Lori Parkhurst) of Jeffersonville; one sister, Lois Strange of Clay City; one brother, Diddle Banks (Porky) of Jeffersonville; thirty-two grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Barnes; one daughter, Loretta Moore; two sisters, Reva Carmichael and Sarah Strange; two brothers, Jimmy Banks and Charlie Banks.
Funeral will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 10:00AM. Visitation will Monday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, both services at the Full Gospel Light House, 98 5th Avenue, Clay City, Kentucky 40312. Burial will follow at the Barnes Family Cemetery. Pastor Sammy Faulkner and Pastor Dale Fawns will be officiating.
Pallbearers: Frankie Crouch, Jonathan Crouch, Allen Crouch, Jacob Caskey, Charlie Barnes, Marion Hudson and Scottie Hudson.
