Albert Eugene Hamilton

April 9, 1942 — June 21, 2013

Albert Eugene Hamilton, 71, of Mt. Sterling, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was born in Dunkirk, Indiana on April 9, 1942 to the late Howard and Ruth McGlothin Hamilton.

Albert moved from Dunkirk, Indiana to Montgomery County thirty-five years ago where he served his community as Captain of the Mt. Sterling Fire Department as well as an officer for the Mt. Sterling Police Department. He later worked in assembly at A.O. Smith until his retirement. After his retirement he managed Pizza Hut for several years. He enjoyed staying in touch with family and friends through Facebook, had a passion for Bluegrass music and was a big UK Wildcats fan.

Albert is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Connie Compton Hamilton of Mt. Sterling; two sons, Howard Hamilton (Kimberly) of Owingsville and Walter Allen Hamilton (Beverly) of Sharpsburg; one daughter, Tracy Donohew (Joe) of Mt. Sterling; two sisters, Joyce Hamilton of Plaquemine, Louisiana and Wanda Hamilton of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren, Jessica Hayes, Casey Henderson, Jordan Henderson, and Sarah Danielle Hamilton; one great grandchild, Kaylee Carpenter; special friends, Phillip and Barbara Welch; many special nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Bishop Hamilton and Claudie Lee Hamilton; one sister, Louise McCarty.

Pallbearers: Montgomery County Fire and EMS.

Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Jeff McGinnis and staff, staff of Ross Drugs, staff of St. Joseph Mt. Sterling, Eric Jones, and the late Kenny Jones.
