Albert "Bud" Earl Sears, Jr.

November 28, 1936 — July 23, 2020

Albert "Bud" Earl Sears, Jr., of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday morning, July 23, 2020 at his residence surrounded by family.  He was born in Bath County on November 28, 1936 to the late Albert Earl and Lucille Robinson Sears, Sr.

Bud was a United States Army Veteran and a native of the area.  He enjoyed camping, traveling and was always excited when going out to eat with loved ones.  Bud loved his family and cherished the time they had together.  His friends and family will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Lucy Goodpaster Sears of Mt. Sterling; one son, Albert Earl Sears, III (Audrey) of Mt. Sterling;  two daughters, Natalie Sears Bailey (David) and Kim Sears both of Mt. Sterling; five grandchildren, Allison Bailey (Michael Kelso), Amanda Bailey (James Daugherty), Michael Rothwell, Faith Rothwell and Skylar Sears all of Mt. Sterling; two great grandchildren, Phoenix Daugherty and Katherine Daugherty both of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Carolyn Trusty of Frenchburg and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Sears and Roger Sears; two sisters, Alice Estes and Irene Mynhier and one son-in-law, Danny Reddix.

Graveside service will be Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 10:30AM at Machpelah Cemetery.  Per Kentucky recommendations please be considerate of others in attendance by practicing social distancing.
