Ann D. Sorrell, 90, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday afternoon, December 27, 2012 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. She was born on June 27, 1922. Ann was the widow of Paul Taylor Sorrell.
Ann has resided in Montgomery County for the past 70 years. She was of Presbyterian faith, a homemaker, a nurse's aide at Mary Chiles Hospital and the school nurse at McNabb Middle School. Ann enjoyed reading and traveling with her family; but nothing gave her greater joy than her grandchildren, Kelly, Jay, Joey, Kristen, and Valerie.
Survivors include; two sons, Paul Sorrell, Jr. (Judy) of Staunton, Virginia and Phillip Sorrell (Marilyn) of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Betsy Foster (Sam) of Mt. Sterling and Susan Beyer (Hans) of Laguna Beach, California; five grandchildren, Kelly Foster of Mt. Sterling, Jay Foster (Casey) of Mt. Sterling, Joey Sorrell of Staunton, Virginia, Kristen Sorrell Doughty (Kent) of Staunton, Virginia, and Valerie Norrell of Long Beach, California; two great grandchildren, Maxwell Clay Foster of Mt. Sterling and Brooks Taylor Doughty of Staunton, Virginia.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Taylor Sorrell.
Graveside committal service will be Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 10:00AM at Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 4, 2013 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Frank Pottorff will be officiating.
