Anna Laura Gillispie Hinkle, 88, of Jeffersonville, died Thursday morning, January 7, 2016 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. She was born September 1, 1927 in Pike County to the late John and Goldie Hayton Gillispie.
Anna moved to Montgomery County in 1980 from Pike County and she was a member of the Spruce First Church of God. Anna had a good hearted personality, she loved her family and especially taking care of her late husband. She enjoyed cooking, reading, her vegetable gardens and in past years, her dairy cows. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include; two sons, Barry Hinkle (Violet) of Harold and Ernie Hinkle of Mt. Sterling; five daughters, Tina Tackett of Middletown, Ohio, Linda Adkins (Ronnie) of Cynthiana, Diane Davis (Dennis) of Mt. Sterling, Cheryl Hurley (David) of Mare Creek and Pam Esteppe (Gary) of Mt. Sterling; two brothers, Ernie Gillispie (Vanessia) and Johnny Gillispie (Betty), both of Pikeville; two sisters, Juanita Barrett of Ohio and Helen Lowe (Bobby) of Pikeville; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2009, Carl Hinkle; her son, Carl Junior Hinkle; two brothers, Kernie Gillispie and Kermit Gillispie and one son-in-law, Clifton Tackett.
Pastor Hoss Prater will be officiating.
Pallbearers: Bobby Sanders, Anthony Hunt, David Esteppe, Sean Edwards and Jerry Davis.
