Anna "Lou" McCarty

December 24, 1926 — May 6, 2012

Anna Lou McCarty, 85, of Mt. Sterling, died Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2012 at her residence. She was born December 24, 1926 in Mt. Sterling to the late Andy and Maggie Johnson.

Lou was a Montgomery County native and a member of the Antioch Christian Church. Lou was employed by the Montgomery County School System as a bus driver and teacher's aide, she also enjoyed working at Oldham's clothing store, serving on the board for the Montgomery County Humane Society and volunteering at Windsor Care.

Survivors include; her husband of sixty-five years, Bob A. McCarty of Mt. Sterling; one son, Terry McCarty (Marcella) of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Karen McCarty of Mt. Sterling and Jackie Nickell (Steve) of Lawrenceburg; two grandchildren, Joe Tipton (Katie) of Georgetown and Jeffrey Tipton of Mt. Sterling; one great grandson, Sylas Tipton of Georgetown.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Johnson and William Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions towards the Montgomery County Humane Society, PO Box 123, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353 or a charity of your choice.

Graveside burial service will be at Machpelah Cemetery on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 2:00PM.

Pallbearers: Steve Nickell, Harold Hale, Joe Tipton, Larry Reed, Jeffrey Tipton and Donnie Tech.
