Anna Lou Hoffman William, 93, of Montgomery County, died Tuesday evening, September 12, 2017 at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.  She was born December 15, 1923 in Montgomery County to the late Jouett Miller, Sr. and Mary Van Zant Tabb Hoffman.

Anna Lou was a Montgomery County native, member of the Ascension Episcopal Church and a United States World War II Marine Corps veteran.  She was the first female Marine from Montgomery County and she also worked in the Pentagon.  Anna Lou loved volunteering at Mary Chiles Hospital as an Auxiliary member and received the honor as Emerald Lady of the year.  She enjoyed bike riding, playing tennis and playing bridge.  She will be dearly missed by her family, church family and friends.

Survivors include; one daughter, Dede Burdine (David) of Lexington;  one son, Tabb William of Falmouth; two grandchildren, Will Burdine (Katie) of Lexington and Lindsey Davis (Anthony) of Georgetown; three great grandchildren, Corin Davis, Callaway Davis and Gray Davis, all of Georgetown.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ed L. William; children, Ed Lindsey William and Edith William and her brother, Jouett Hoffman, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Ascension Episcopal Church, 48 West High Street, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.

Graveside service will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Machpelah Cemetery at 11:00AM.  Father Andrew Hege will be officiating.
