Arlene Groves

Arlene Groves received her heavenly crown on July 20, 2021 at Clark Regional Hospital in Winchester, KY surrounded by family at 7:54PM.

Arlene was born to the late Robert Groves and Ollie Mae Garrett Groves in Mount Sterling, KY on April 22, 1954 and was raised in Smithville.

She leaves to cherish her life on earth, a daughter, Taticha Elise Groves, Winchester, KY, a sister Daisy Jouett, Mt. Sterling, KY a brother James Groves (Brenda), Mt. Sterling, KY and a son-in-law Stanley Patton, Owingsville, KY.  She had two grandchildren that she was extremely proud of, DaVae Jones (Emily), Winchester, KY and Tyus Patton of Owingsville, KY, and a great granddaughter that she adored, Leona Jones of Winchester, KY, two special friends, Sue Garrett and Donald Miller.

Arlene was preceded in death by her daughter, Quaylia Nico Patton, a brother, Robert Groves and a sister Judith Groves.

Arlene was a quiet, pleasant and friendly girl with a smile and attended High Street Christian Church and was active growing up while attending Montgomery County Schools and graduated in 1972 when living in Smithville.   She had her eye at an early age on her career and knew exactly what she wanted to start.  She began as a Candy Striper at the age of seventeen at Mary Chiles Hospital.  She worked hard to earn a job as a Nursing Assistant in the nursery for many years.  She assisted with the birth of newborns and was very proud of the nourishing and spoiling she provided them.  She continued to work for many years there and was promoted to Medical Surgery as a Medical Assistant and was employed for forty-two years.

Visitation for Arlene Groves will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 2:00PM - 4:00PM at High Street Christian Church, Mt. Sterling, KY.  Private family committal will follow.  Reverend Darrell Hayden will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Charles Jouett, Adarine Jouett, DeVae Jones, William Johnson, Horace Groves and James Groves.
