Arnold "Quill" Montgomery

Arnold "Quill" Montgomery, 80, of Jeffersonville, died Monday, July 28, 2014 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. He was born October 8, 1933 in Morgan County to the late Raney and Diana Jenkins Montgomery.

Arnold was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County; he loved his job and was a hard working, dedicated employee of Vulcan Materials where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 36 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Rook player. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Arnold is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Marie Richardson Montgomery; one son, Gregory Arnold Montgomery (Shirley) of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Jennifer Carol Setters (Tommy) of Mt. Sterling and Shiela Marie Montgomery of Jeffersonville; two sisters, Marie Kilgore of Fairborn, Ohio and Minnie Lou Oney (Dallas) of Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren, Sondra Lee Hackworth, Shannon Marie Turner, Gary Allen Strange, Travis Lee Montgomery, Tina Nicole Patrick, and Jamie Carol Hensley; eight great grandchildren, Ryan Hackworth, Kallie Beth Turner, Anthony Thomas Allen Turner, Brittany Taylor Strange, Hannah Marie Patrick, Braylon Allen Strange, Lily Renee Montgomery, Skylar Ray Hensley, and Emma Ballard; one great-great grandchild, John Alden Hackworth.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, James and Deborah Ann Montgomery; brother, Corbett Montgomery; sister, Mary Sue Shuler.

Pallbearers: Tim Hackworth, Gary Jones, Albert Johnson, Ryan Hackworth, Bobby Shuler, and Danny Shuler.

Honorary Pallbearers: Tommy Turner, Tony Turner, Raymond Stephens, Jim Shuler, and Michael Simmons.
