Barbara Lynn (Traylor) McCarty

Barbara Lynn Traylor McCarty, 58, of Owingsville, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at her residence.  She was born November 21, 1958 to the late Ivan and Margaret Peckens Traylor.

Barbara moved to Owingsville twenty years ago from Morehead, she was a homemaker and of the Jehovah Witness faith.  She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, flower gardening, cooking and shopping.  She will be dearly missed by her family, church family and friends.

Survivors include; her beloved husband, Johnny McCarty of Owingsville; nine sons, Aaron Bowling, Lucas McCarty, John Skroch, Todd McCarty, Toby McCarty, Joseph McCarty, Daniel McCarty (Brittany), all of Owingsville; Robert L. Bowling of Florida and Jesse McCarty (Dixie) of Salt Lick; seven daughters, Christy Bowling of Mt. Sterling, Vanessa McCarty (Scotty), Michael Leigh Short (Hurley), Sarah McCarty Lunsford, Amber McCarty, all of Owingsville, Tina Marcum of West Virginia and Melissa Walden (James) of Lexington; one brother, Charlie Traylor (Dee) of Salt Lick; four sisters, Irene Childress of Texas, Judy Omohundro of Owingsville, Carol Caudill of Salt Lick and Debbie Markwell (Monty) of Farmers; one sister-in-law, Carol Traylor; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert E. Bowling; three brothers, Larry Traylor, Alan Traylor and Ivan Traylor; one sister, Patty Norris.
