Barbara Ann Kubic Newcomer, born on January 4, 1946, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Andrew and Rose Marie Alba Kubic. Passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky surrounded by her family. A cherished mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Barbara's life was marked by her unwavering love for her family and her deep commitment to her Roman Catholic faith.
Barbara raised in a close-knit family, and carried her true Sicilian heritage with pride, a trait that shone through in her exceptional cooking and baking. Many will fondly remember her warm, inviting kitchen filled with the aromas of her culinary creations, where she masterfully blended tradition with love.
Barbara found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially during her cherished RV camping trips, where her adventurous spirit thrived amidst nature's beauty. She loved her time outdoors, often found swinging on her back porch while soaking in the sunshine. Her sassy personality and quick wit brought joy to all who knew her, lighting up every room with her vibrant energy.
Barbara's greatest pride was her family. She dedicated her life to raising her four beloved children and creating enduring memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She fiercely loved her family and her dog Rocco, displaying a heart that knew no bounds.
Barbara is survived by her children, Clyde Newcomer III (Elizabeth), Andrew Newcomer, Jeffrey Newcomer, and Janean Newcomer; grandchildren, Larry Burkhart (Jenn), Clyde Newcomer IV (Kristen, and Rebecca Newcomer; great grandchildren, Natalie Newcomer, Sawyer Burkhart, Saylor Burkhart, and another granddaughter on the way, Addison Newcomer; siblings, Joseph Kubic (Patty), Thomas Kubic (Edie), and Rose Flannagan (Ed); host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to Barbara's parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 28 years, Clyde Newcomer, Jr. her cherished Godmother Georgine Batykefer and her much loved niece, Chrissy Lundberg.
Barbara will be remembered for her zest for life, her kindness, and her unwavering support for those she loved. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by her cousin Fr. Jack Batykefer, on Saturday, January 11, 2024 at 11:00AM at the St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Scottdale, Pennsylvania. Internment immediately after Mass.
Barbara Ann Newcomer, a true matriarch, she will be deeply missed by her family and friends but never forgotten.
