Barbara Carmichael Toy, 64, of Mt. Sterling, died Tuesday morning, March 12, 2013 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. She was born in Mt. Sterling to the late Carl Carmichael and Hazel Conkright Karrick.
Barbara was a life-long resident of Montgomery County and a faithful member of Rolling Hills Church of Christ. She had a special fondness for children which led to her being a childcare provider in her home for many years until her retirement. She loved taking care of the children, calling them "her babies". She enjoyed UK Basketball, Cincinnati Reds Baseball, being a secret pal at church, and watching her grandson, Zach, perform and compete in marching band.
Survivors include; one son, Bradley Toy (Gretchen) of Denver, Colorado; one daughter, Sandra Toy (Brad) of Mt. Sterling; four brothers, Randy Carmichael of Sharpsburg, Jerry Carmichael (Jean) of Dry Ridge, Keith Carmichael (Sue) of Owingsville, and David Karrick of Jeffersonville; three grandchildren, Zachary Bruce Toy of Mt. Sterling, Sarah Toy and Katie Toy both of Denver, Colorado.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of thirty-eight years, Bruce Toy.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Barbara's memory to; Rolling Hills Church of Christ, 125 Rolling Hills Drive, Mount Sterling, Kentucky 40353.
Pallbearers: Jesse Carmichael, Jason Carmichael, Jeff Carmichael, James Carmichael, Kris Jett, Tyler Jett, Justin Bartley, and Austin Lykins.
Honorary Pallbearers: Trevor Blevins, Carl David Otten, and Blake Thompson.
