Betty Lorraine Renfro Toy, 78, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born on January 3, 1946, in Richmond, to the late Forest and Virginia Harvey Renfro.
As a devoted homemaker, Betty found joy in creating a warm and loving environment for her family. She was an avid reader and had a particular love for watching Westerns and the classic series, Law & Order. Her passions were simple yet profound-the thrill of a good storyline, the joy of shopping, and most importantly, the priceless moments spent with her loved ones. She loved fiercely, embracing her family with unwavering support and affection. Betty's welcoming spirit meant she never met a stranger; she had a unique gift for striking up conversations and forming connections with everyone she encountered.
Betty is survived by her devoted daughters, Tracy Mays (Tim), and Kaitlin McLean (A.J.), grandchildren, Matthew Goodpaster (Courtney), and Jami Goodpaster, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren: Jacob Wells, Braxton Wells, Dakotah Conkright, Knox Goodpaster, Lynette Goodpaster, and Madison Toy, and numerous cousins. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love and kindness.
In addition to Betty's parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Toy and daughter, Karen Land.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr Pierce and his office along with, St. Joseph of Mt Sterling's Chemo Infusion center for their care and love to Betty.
Celebration of Life service will be Friday, December 13, 2024, 11:00AM at Heritage Christian Church. Pastor Chris Shaw will be officiating.
Betty Lorraine Toy's spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by love, until we meet again.
