Betty Jean Shultz Williams, 83, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday morning, April 11, 2013 in Lexington. She was born on January 9, 1930 in Bath County to the late Leslie and Mary "Poadie" Blevins Shultz.
Betty Jean moved to Montgomery County from Lexington in 1990 and was a member of Rolling Hills Church of Christ. She retired from Curtis Meat Shop in Lexington where she worked as a clerk and delivery driver. Betty Jean enjoyed UK Basketball, Cincinnati Reds Baseball, being a secret pal at church, and reading.
Survivors include; two sons, Leslie Williams (Tammy) of Mt. Sterling and Robert Allen Williams (Lisa) of Lexington; one daughter, Jackie Van Winkle (Buram) of Lexington; two sisters, "Jo" Davis (Bobby) of Mt. Sterling and Carolyn Cline (Johnny) also of Mt. Sterling; a sister-in-law, Bethel Shultz of Mt. Sterling; seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Shultz.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Betty Jean's memory to; Rolling Hills Camp, 125 Rolling Hills Drive, Mount Sterling, Kentucky 40353; or Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504.
Pallbearers: Michael Van Winkle, Christian Williams, Matthew Williams, Joseph Allen Williams, Scottie Williams, and Chris Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers: Eddie Ingram, Jimmy Welch, Mike Donaldson, Charles Smallwood, and Mike Evans.
