In loving memory of our dear Brian Burl Lykins II, a compassionate soul and beloved son, brother, and friend. He was born on May 17, 1994, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, to Brian Burl Lykins and Melissa Jackson Hughes. Brian passed away unexpectedly in Louisville, Kentucky on Monday, May 13, at the age of 29.
Brian formerly resided in Jeffersonville and was a dedicated social worker who cared deeply for children. Brian was a proud graduate of Menifee County High School and Morehead State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Social Work degree. Brian had a keen intellect and a passion for learning, especially in the realm of finances. He enjoyed playing video games, cheering for the University of Kentucky sports teams, and participating in fantasy football leagues. Brian was known for his caring nature, always willing to lend a helping hand and share life lessons with his siblings. His unconditional love and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.
He will forever be cherished by his mother, Melissa Hughes; father, Brian Lykins (Erica); siblings: Shayna Raelynn Aldridge, Courtney Nicole Hughes, Tristan Blake Hedges, Mason Lykins, Gracy Lykins, Alyson (Blake) Roe, Gavin Lykins; uncles: Paul Jackson, Benny (Sadie) Ledford, Curt (Angie) Ledford, Tony (Sarah) Wells; aunts: Jennifer Puckett, Crystal Herndon, Deana (Phillip) Fawns, Heather (Patrick) Manning, Alice Cole, and Mary Ann (Wade) Chestnut; niece, Blakely Taylor Roe; and all of his cousins and extended friends and family.
