Burl "Wayne" Becraft, 60, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away on Friday evening, October 29, 2021 at University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington. He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on May 13, 1961 to Burl and Fern Hall Becraft.
Wayne was a native of Montgomery County, of the Christian faith, a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry with Woodall Construction, Lexington, and a former pyrotechnician at Jerry Hatton and Melrose Fireworks. Wayne loved the outdoors, camping, farming, fishing and being a mechanic. He had a joking personality, he could find humor in anything and always had the best gag gift for his family at Christmas time. He enjoyed Nascar racing and loved to talk about his trips to Daytona and Talladega Superspeedways. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Wayne is survived by his loving mother; Fern Hall Becraft of Mt. Sterling; three adoring daughters; Ashley Becraft of Mt. Sterling, Melissa Becraft of Mt. Sterling and Bethanie Becraft of Mt. Sterling; two sisters; Carolyn Hart (Michael) of Mt. Sterling and Laura Parks (Richard) of Mt. Sterling; nephew; Lucas Hart; special friend; Treva Payne of Winchester and lifelong friend Kenny Becraft of Mt. Sterling.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father; Burl Becraft and his daughter; Angel Becraft; aunt; Maudie Becraft.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Queen Street Christian Fellowship. Visitation will be from 5:00PM - 8:00PM on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Queen Street Christian Fellowship, 10 North Queen Street Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery.
