Carola Madeline Rolph Brown, 98, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, KY on January 26, 2019. She was born in Sharpsburg, KY on November 24, 1920 to the late Carl and Lena Rolph and moved to Mt. Sterling in 1922, living on Harrison Avenue until 2017.
For the last two years she had lived at Windsor Care but she always claimed Harrison Avenue as her home. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking deserts and designing clothes for her three girls. Carola was a long time member of the First Methodist Church in Mt. Sterling.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie McCorkindale of Mt. Sterling and Jeanie Brown (L.D.) of Palatka, FL; three grandchildren, Melanie Shouse of Pensacola, FL, Jeb Shouse of Sunland, CA, and John Allen Nettles (Kelley) of Jacksonville, FL; one great grandson, James Lawrence Nettles also of Jacksonville, FL, as well as one niece, Patty Jackson and one nephew, Phil Murphy both of Mt. Sterling. She especially loved her very special friends, Matilda Purvis, Raymond Gilley and Linda Lindstrom and their families, all of Mt. Sterling. They were always so kind and giving to her needs.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter Ramona who passed at the age of ten; sister Margie Murphy (Russell); step son, Henry Brown and the fathers of her children, Allen Woodward Orme and Boyd Brown.
Memorial service may follow at a later date.
