Carole M. Reeder, 78, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 15, 1943. Carole was the daughter of the late Moe and Aileen McKenzie Moorefield of Rowan County.
Carole moved to Montgomery County in 1974 from Morehead. She was a teacher at McNabb Middle School and attended First Church of God. First and foremost, Carole was a devoted mother and wife. She loved the beach, playing cards, solving puzzles, reading, and most of all, supporting her children and her grandchildren, showering them in selfless and unconditional love.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Carole is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Dan Reeder of Mt. Sterling; one son, Andy Blair (Becky) of Lake Wales, Florida; one daughter, Amy Carole Reeder Worley (Ben) of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Emily Blair Martin (Ross) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Betsy Blair Fowler (Jacob) of Ft. Pierce, Florida, and Jay Worley and Will Worley, both of Raleigh, North Carolina.
A pleasant goodbye in honor of Carole will be held Monday, February 8, 2021 at 12:00 PM at the First Church of God in Mt. Sterling. Visitation will be prior from 11:00PM - 12:00 PM. Pastor Andy Blair and Pastor David Dooley will officiate.
The family respectfully requests that, due to Covid-19, social distancing be maintained by those attending the visitation and service and that everyone wear a mask. Dan, Andy and Amy also want friends and family to know that they understand and respect the unique challenges of attending a celebration during the pandemic and invite anyone who would like to do so, to send a note to the family at inmemoryofcarole@yahoo.com.
