Carolyn "Jane" Huff Purvis, 74, of Mt. Sterling, died Wednesday morning, March 7, 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling. She was born December 30, 1943 in Montgomery County to the late Shelby and Mae “Mammy” Branham Huff.
Jane was a Montgomery County native, owned and operated the Corner Restaurant and was a member of the Howards Mill First Church of God. She enjoyed cooking, especially making candy, yard sales, spending time with family and camping with her sisters. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include; three sons, Greg Purvis (Rena), Jimmy Purvis (Dora) both of Mt. Sterling and Randy Purvis of Wheelwright, two daughters, Tangela Wilkerson (Jim) and Kimberly Blevins (Lonnie Adams) both of Mt. Sterling, three brothers, Tommie Huff (Letricia) of Tampa, FL, Tony Huff (Jenny) of Plum Lick and Terry Huff (Vicky) of Mt. Sterling, seven sisters, Alene Agee (Roger) of Hamilton, OH, Maxine Nowicki (John) of Lexington, Sue Faulk (Walter) of Winchester, Judy Stone (Dewey), Peggy Pitts (Larry), Donna Shepherd (David), Tammy Ray (Destil) all of Mt. Sterling, thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Patty Willoughby and Mary Wanda Huff.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Howards Mill First Church of God, 4367 Howards Mill Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held for her family and friends Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00PM at Howards Mill First Church of God, 4367 Howards Mill Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353. Rev. David Campbell will be officiating.
