Chester Thomas Oldfield, 74, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away suddenly on Sunday morning, February 20, 2022 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Montgomery County on October 24, 1947 to the late Cecil and Mary Coburn Oldfield.
Chester was a Montgomery County native, of the Christian faith, Retired from the USPS as Postmaster of West Liberty, KY, a United States Army Combat Veteran having served in Vietnam where he earned two Bronze Star Medals, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had a contagious laugh, loved to joke and enjoyed time with his grandchildren, two dogs Maggie and Sissy, fishing, singing, traveling, yard work, and NASCAR. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Chester is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Donna Henry Oldfield of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Angela Oldfield Osborne of North Middletown; one granddaughter, Jerrica Rice of North Middletown; two great grandchildren, Alana Walker and Waylon Rice; one sister, Priscilla Rogers (Chester) of Mt. Sterling; one sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Henry of Winchester and many nieces, nephews and cousins he loved very much.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Church of the Harvest, 2450 Osborne Road, Mt. Sterling, with Pastor Marion Fawns officiating. Visitation will be prior to the funeral service from 10:00AM to 12:00PM. Burial will be held at a later date at the Donnie G Randall Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Stanton KY.
Pallbearers: Rick Oldfield, AJ Osborne, Brady Chaney, Mike Hobbs, Chris Walker and Brian Lockett.
