Claude Everett Smith, 93, of Mt. Sterling, died Wednesday evening, March 25, 2015 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling. He was born October 25, 1921 in Hardy, Kentucky to the late Lewis and Elsie Stollings Smith.
Claude lived in Columbus, Ohio until 1987 before moving to Montgomery County. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of Assembly of God. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, serving in WWII and the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, taking walks, going to church and listening to the Tom & Judy Show. Claude adored his grandchildren and he will dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; four children, David May (Fueko) of Fallon, Nevada, Judith Scott (Burl) of Ashville, Ohio, Linda Stuart of Toler, Kentucky, Debbie May (Larry) of Mt. Sterling; two sisters, Mae Tarr of Georgetown, Delaware, and Emma Lee Dix of Fayetteville, West Virginia; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys June Smith; three brothers, Harold Smith, Thomas Smith and James Smith; two sisters, Grace Millington and Clistia Huffman; one great granddaughter, Courtney Martin.
