Collis Setters, Jr., 81, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away Tuesday morning, January 4, 2022 at University of Kentucky Hospice Care Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Bourbon County on May 18, 1940 to the late Collis, Sr. and Almarie Craycraft Setters.
Collis moved from North Middletown in 1975 and has been a resident of Montgomery County since that time. He is a member of First Baptist Church, Mt. Sterling, Montgomery County Cattleman's Association, a former board member of Federal Land Bank, retired from IBM and founder of Setters Septic Service. Collis was a hard working avid farmer, a collector of old cars, trucks and farm equipment and a bird hunter. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Collis is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of fifty-eight years; Alma Groves Setters; beloved son; Brent Setters (Melody) of Mt. Sterling; adored daughter; Sandy Woosley (David) of Mt. Sterling; four cherished grandchildren; Rachel Vaughn (Ben) of Maysville, Ethan Woosley (Felicia) of Mt. Sterling, Patrick and Brody Setters, both of Mt. Sterling; three great grandchildren; Erika, Carson and Lucy; sister; Glenda Cruz (Robert) of Florida; nephews; Shane Curtis and Shea Curtis.
In addition to his parents, Collis was preceded in death by his daughter; Patricia Setters and brother; Glenn Douglas Setters.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM - 7:00PM on Tuesday January 11, 2022. Both will be held at Gateway Christian Church, 801 Winchester Road Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Committal will follow the funeral service at Crown Hill Cemetery, Main Street Sharpsburg, Kentucky. Pastor Bill Kilgore and Pastor Chris Wells will be officiating.
Pallbearers: Patrick Setters, Tim Reynolds, Dwain Ginter, Mark Craycraft, Bryan Beasley, Jeff Thompson, Nick Cannon and Ethan Woosley.
Honorary Pallbearers: Jimmy Craycraft, Max Hatfield, Cecil Foley, Rachel Woosley, Brody Setters, John Malone, Roy Williams, Gerald Ingram, Keith Craycraft, Lynn Canada and Byron Craycraft.
