David "Pete" Henry Haynes, 72, of Mt. Sterling, died, Wednesday morning, February 3, 2016, at the Hospice Care Center at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was born April 27, 1943 in Fayette County, to the late Earl, Sr. and Allaine Hill Haynes.
Pete was a life-long resident of Montgomery County, a retired farmer and truck driver. Pete enjoyed fishing, farming, gardening, UK basketball and sold vegetables at the Farmer's Market for years. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; his wife of forty-two years, Charlene Haynes of Mt. Sterling; four children, Beth Barnes (David) of Louisville, Anthony Haynes (Tony Douthitt) of Mt. Sterling, Kim Kennedy (Franklin) and Jennifer Hall, both of Oliver Springs, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Emma Barnes of Louisville, Kayla Kennedy of Phoenix, Arizona, John David Kennedy (Kaitlyn), Joseph Kennedy and Braxton Pemberton, all of Oliver Springs, Tennessee; two brother, Dana Haynes (Faye) of Williamstown and Phillip Haynes (Linda) of Charlotte, North Carolina; one sister, Mary Grayson (David) of Mt. Sterling; special nephew, Damon Haynes (Jamie) of Mt. Sterling; long time family friend, August Humphrey of Mt. Sterling; his dog, Jo Jo; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Susan Haynes; three brothers, Tommy Haynes, Alvin Haynes and Earl Haynes, Jr.
