Delta Kidd Buchanan

Delta Kidd Buchanan, a resident of Edgewood Estates in Frenchburg, died on Friday, November 23, 2012. She was a 93 year old native of Menifee County being born on September 22, 1919 on Myers Fork Road to Ronald Kidd and Ada Fox Kidd Wells.

Delta was a farm housewife and mother but also worked for several years in the Menifee County High School cafeteria. She was a Jehovah's Witness, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, and embroidery. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, Delta believed God's promise found at Psalms 37 verses 9 and 11 that of one day getting to live on a paradise earth with other meek individuals and she went to sleep looking forward to that happy time.

Survivors include; four daughters, Faye Buchanan of Arizona, Phyllis Catching of Lexington, Mary Buchanan of Mt. Sterling, and Dorothy Hunter of Frenchburg; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two cousins, Bill Bashford of Winchester and Laveda Caudel of Frenchburg.

In addition to her parents and step father, Oliver Perry Wells, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Waverly Buchanan; a daughter, Doris Ann Fox; three brothers, Ronald Kidd, Jr., Clark Kidd, and Gerald Wells;

She will rest alongside her beloved grandmother, Margaret Poplin Fox, in the Powers Cemetery at Denniston, Kentucky until she is once again reunited through a resurrection back here on earth with all the loved ones who went before and with all those she had to leave behind. A grand reunion indeed awaits!
