Don C. McFadde

Don C. McFadden, Jr., M.D., 79, passed away Friday, July 4, 2015, in Lexington after a long illness. He was born January 25, 1936, in Corbin to the late Don C. McFadden, Sr. and Elsie Ray McFadden.

Dr. McFadden grew up in Mt. Sterling and graduated from Mt. Sterling High School in 1954. He received his undergraduate's degree from Duke University in 1958 and his M.D. degree from Duke University in 1962. After completing his residency at University of Cincinnati, he served active duty as a Captain in the Air Force from 1963 to 1965. Upon receiving an honorable discharge, Dr. McFadden entered private practice in Mt. Sterling as a family physician for over 39 years and a staff member of Mary Chiles Hospital where he delivered hundreds of babies during his career. He was also the team physician for the Mt. Sterling Trojan's football team. Dr. McFadden was a member and Deacon at the First Baptist Church, a member of the Board of Directors of Mt. Sterling National Bank and Whitaker Bank and an elected member of the Mt. Sterling Board of Education and the Montgomery County Board of Education.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anne Perkins McFadden of Lexington; one daughter, Laurie McFadden Miller (Bobby) of Paducah; one son, Don C, McFadden III (Beth) of Winchester; five granddaughters, Susan Keffer (Michael) and their daughter Mary Beth of Winchester, Laura Anne McFadden of Lexington, Caroline Miller of Nashville, Sarah McFadden of Winchester and Catherine Miller of Houston, Texas.
