Donald Eugene Pontius, Jr.

Donald Eugene Pontius, Jr., 60, of Mt. Sterling died Saturday, August 8, 2020 at his residence.  He was born in Syracuse, New York on November 6, 1959 to Donald Eugene Pontius, Sr. and the late Cynthia Clasen Harris.

Donald moved to Mt. Sterling six years ago from Texas.  He was a talented mechanic and worked as a tool and die machinist.  Donald enjoyed remodeling classic cars, building guns, camping and listening to music often being the designated "Disk Jockey".  He loved his family and friends and they will miss him dearly.

Donald is survived by one daughter, Caroline Jones (Ben) of Auburn, Alabama; two grandchildren, Addyson Jones and Hutton Jones both of Auburn, Alabama; his father, Donald Eugene Pontius, Sr. (Robin); three sisters, Elizabeth Torchia Combs (Anthony) of Mt. Sterling, Sue Murray of Groton, Vermont and Madelene Funk of Wolcott, Connecticut; his previous wife and friend Dee Jansen of Atlanta, Georgia and two special friends, Hobert Hall of Mt.Sterling and Melanie Mann of Mt. Sterling.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Valerie May Pontius and one sister, Paulette Lou Siriani.
