Douglas Ray Ward

Douglas Ray Ward, of Owingsville, KY, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024, at the age of 80. Born in Troy, OH on February 3, 1944, he was the son of the late Merlin Ray and Edwina Schaefer Ward. 

Doug was a man of many interests, he found joy in playing golf, watching and playing baseball in his youth, restoring old tractors, and attending tractor pulls. A loyal Cincinnati Reds and University of Kentucky sports fan, his passion for sports was evident in his unwavering support for his favorite teams. 

Doug is survived by his daughters, Theresa Fraley (Michael) and Holly Davidson (Dave); nine grandchildren, Dustin, Dawn, Chris, Megan, Cody, Tamaira, Sharla, Alex and Katie; numerous great grandchildren; his sister Carol Youngermen; former wife Paulette Coates, and her children Eugenia Coates and Kelly Coates. 

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his son, Theodore “Ted” Wayne Ward as well as his three brothers, Dan Ward, Mark Ward, and Butch Ward.
