Edward Lee Butler, 76, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away Friday morning, January 13, 2023 at Clark Regional Medical Center. He was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on December 31, 1946, to the late Henry and Martha Spurlock Butler.
Edward was a resident of Montgomery County for forty-seven years, was of the Christian faith and attended Howards Mill First Church of God as well as Youngs Valley Church. Hewas a former carpenter and enjoyed working with his hands. His past times included watching Gunsmoke, camping, hunting, playing cards and spending time with his beloved family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Edward is survived by his loving and devoted wife of forty-one beautiful years, Patsy Petitt Butler; son, Rob Nelson (Christina) of Owingsville; two daughters, Angie Snelling (Danny) of Paris and Wendi Burns (Dempsey) of Mt. Sterling; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Snelling of Paris, Ashli Nelson (Ryan Stephens) of Winchester, Daniel Snelling of Paris, Clay Nelson of Mt. Sterling, Dalton Nelson of Owingsville, Rebecca Burns of Mt. Sterling, Bryson Purvis of Owingsville, Alyssa Burns of Mt. Sterling, Ava Purvis of Owingsville; two great grandchildren, Atticus Sparks and Theo Sparks, both of Paris; brother, James Butler (Peggy) of Deshler, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his son, Terry Lee Butler; three brothers, Virgil Butler, Howard Butler and Bill Butler; two sisters, Bertha Molton and Ruby Eldridge.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, January 16, 2023. Visitation will be prior from 10:00AM - 12:00PM. Both will be held at Howards Mill First Church of God 4367 Howards Mill Road Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Pastor David Campbell and Pastor Tim Lawson will be officiating.
