Elizabeth Ann "Libby" (Ramsey) Steinmetz

Elizabeth Ann Ramsey Steinmetz "Libby", 94, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday morning, December 28, 2019 at her residence.  She was born in Mt. Sterling on June 3, 1925 to the late Fred Allen and Nannie Mae Coons Ramsey.

Libby was a graduate of the school of journalism, University of Alabama.  She was a member of the Society of Boonesborough.  She was a published poet and loved fishing.  She was an accomplished flower gardener and an avid photographer.  Libby loved spending time with family and friends.  She loved watching her hummingbirds from her front portch.  Libby was married 74 years to her loving husband, Lloyd.

She is survived by one son, Tom Steinmetz of Mt. Sterling; four grandchildren, Shannon McIlhargey (Michael) of Augusta, Georgia, Chadwick Steinmetz of Los Angeles, California, L.E. Steinmetz (Shelly) of Dallas, Texas and Tom N. Steinmetz of Austin, Texas; two great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Libby was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Tiebout Steinmetz, Jr. and one son, Lloyd Allen Steinmetz.

Graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at 2:00PM at Machpelah Cemetery.  Pastor Gist Howell will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Tom N. Steinmetz, Chadwick Steinmetz, Richard Brown, Richard Harr, Michael Harr and Ashley Kirk.

Honorary Pallbearer:  David Greene and Michael McIlhargey.
