Frances Gene Bashaw, 66, of Mt. Sterling, died Sunday evening, February 19, 2012 at her residence. She was born May 14, 1945 in Lee County to the late Marion and Lora Stamper.
Gene moved to Mt. Sterling over forty years ago from Hazel Green, she is a member of the First Christian Church, retired from A.O. Smith and she enjoyed quilting, gardening and floral design. Gene will be dearly missed by her family, friends and church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Georgette Greene (Mike) of Mt. Sterling; four brothers, Roger Stamper (Judy) of Hazel Green, Wilford Stamper (Dorothy) of Menifee County, Mitchell Stamper (Peggy) of West Liberty and Vernon Stamper (Joyce) of Sharpsburg; two sisters, Faith Van Fossen (David) of Cambridge, Ohio and Clarice Amburgy (Don) of Menifee County; two grandchildren, Dana Leigh Vice and Collin Sanford Vice of Mt. Sterling.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bashaw and four brothers, Avon Stamper, Paul Stamper, Richard Clay Stamper and an infant.
The family request In Lieu of Flowers that donations are made to the First Christian Church.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM and Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, services will be at First Christian Church. Rev. Bill Bingham will be officiating.
