Francis "Jodie" Joseph McNeill

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Francis "Jodie" Joseph McNeil. Jodie, affectionately known for his goofy spirit and infectious laughter, was born on June 12, 1961, and left this world peacefully on March 28, 2025, at the age of 63.

Jodie dedicated 42 years of his life to the City Electric Motor Company in Lexington, where he worked diligently as a general manager. His commitment to his work was matched only by his profound love for family and friends. A true grill master, he was known for his wonderful barbecues that brought everyone together, often accompanied by bonfires and laughter.

A passionate fan of UK basketball, Jodie cherished every moment spent cheering for his team. He adored fishing and camping, finding joy in the simplicity of nature and the company of loved ones. Family gatherings were his joy, as he never missed an opportunity to create memories and make everyone around him smile. His outgoing personality and knack for humor meant that he never met a stranger, making friendships wherever he went.

Jodie is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Becky Fields McNeill, who was his partner in life and love; children, Shannon McNeill and Kasey McNeill (Charles Helton); grandchildren, Lennon Helton and Tierney Helton; sister-in-law, Devon Richardson; niece, Elizabeth Alexander; and numerous family members.

Jodie is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Thelma Lovell McNeill.

Visitation services for Jodie will be held at Coffman Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, starting at 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Following his wishes, he will be cremated after the visitation.
