Garry Michael "Mick" Martin

Garry Michael "Mick" Martin, 60, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday morning, August 9, 2012, at his residence. He was born October 14, 1951 in Mt. Sterling to Ada Martin and the late Everett Martin.

Garry was a Montgomery County native, an employee of Bucyrus-Caterpillar and a member of Jeffersonville Assembly of God. Garry, who was known for being a jokester, loved the outdoors, deer hunting, working on cars and most of all his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include; his wife of 33 years, Betty Markland Martin; one son, Cody Martin of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, April Martin and Michelle Martin both of Mt. Sterling; two brothers, Gilbert Martin (Kathy) of Mt. Sterling, and Leslie Martin (Debbie) of Mt. Sterling; five sisters, Judy Reed (Floyd) of Jeffersonville, Loretta Cornwell (Lonnie) of Jeffersonville, Patricia Hall (Danny) of Jeffersonville, Rita Wilson of Frenchburg, and Reva Wilson (Eddie) of Owingsville; four grandchildren, Dakota Martin, Alexis Johnson, Zachery Day and Zoey Day.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Martin, and two brothers, Willard Martin and Troy Martin.

Funeral will be Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 9:00AM at Jeffersonville Assembly of God. Visitation will be Friday, August 10, 2012 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Jeffersonville Assembly of God. Burial will follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Pastor Robbie Conn will be officiating.

Pallbearers: George Willoughby, C.C. Nester, Corky Corcoran, Jared Adkins, James Osborne, Tom Lueker, Marvin Markland, and Cody Martin.

Honorary Pallbearers: Eddie Wilson, Floyd Reed, Danny Hall, Bobby Reffitt, Lonnie Cornwell, Brandon Baker, Jessie Martin, Jim Ring, and T.J. Lueker.
