Genoa Montgomery Williams

October 6, 1936 — February 22, 2012

Genoa Montgomery Williams, 75, of Frenchburg, died Wednesday morning, February 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born October 6, 1936 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late John and Martha Montgomery.

Genoa moved to Menifee County 20 years ago from Breathitt County, she enjoyed her time with the kids while employed at Job Corp, a member of the Tarr Ridge Church of God, a member of the Commanders Veterans Club, she campaigned for a cure and received an award from the Fire Department in 1999 for her volunteering efforts for the fire in Daniel Boone National Forest.

Survivors include: one son, Virgil "Tex" Williams of Frenchburg; four daughters, Elizabeth Acton (Clyde) of Ohio, Martha Sizemore of Frenchburg, Rebecca Fugate of West Liberty and Julia Campbell (Joseph) of Breathitt County; two brothers, Eldon Montgomery (Susie) of Magoffin County and Ellis Montgomery of Magoffin County; three sisters, Hazel Wages (Wilson) of Ohio, Lena Montgomery of Magoffin County and Reva Fugate (Rosco) of Breathitt County; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ollie Montgomery, Melvin Montgomery and Pat Montgomery and one sister-in-law, Arzella Montgomery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Genoa Montgomery Funeral Fund.

Funeral Service will be Friday, February 24, 2012 at 3:00 PM and Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, services will be at Tarr Ridge Church of God with burial following at the Sizemore Montgomery Cemetery on Tarr Ridge. Pastor Dennis Flannery will be officiating.

Pallbearers: David Barker, Jerry Wayne Fugate, Randy Thacker, J.D. Trimble, Darrell Arnett and Roy Sizemore.
