Geof Michael Thomas, 41, of Winchester, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at UK Medical Center. He was born March 6, 1973 in Mt. Sterling to Larry Thomas and the late Linda Isaacs Thomas.
Geof was a Montgomery County native, graduated from Montgomery County High School in 1991 and was a member of Gateway Christian Church. He was a hard working, dedicated manager at City Barbeque in Lexington and previously at Applebee's and Red Lobster. He enjoyed history; primarily JFK related topics and was an avid Reds, UK, Star Wars and Beetles fan. Geof never met a stranger; he was well liked by everyone and always had a smile. His contagious smile, compassionate attitude and gentle spirit was an inspiration to all. Geof was a terrific father to his boys, he loved playing and teaching them. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Geof is survived by his two precious sons, Peyton and Clayton Thomas of Winchester; his father, Larry Thomas of Lexington; one sister, Jennifer Thomas Hager (Steve) of Jeffersonville; two nieces, Emilee and Lillie Hager of Jeffersonville, grandmother, Henryetta Thomas of Sharpsburg; his fiancé©, Libby Letcher of Winchester and two dogs, Ty and Shorty.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raymond Sr. and Sally Coyle Issacs and his paternal grandfather, Mark Thomas.
