Gerald Richard Gardner

Gerald Richard (Barnhart) Gardner, 74, of Jeffersonville, died Monday morning, September 10, 2012, at his residence. He was born July 5, 1938 in Preble County, Ohio to the late William and Orpha Gardner.
Gerald moved to Montgomery County from Kissimmee, Florida seven years ago. He served in the Army and Navy, he attended the First Church of God and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. Gerald was a retired heavy equipment mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and he was a big UK basketball fan.
Survivors include; his wife of 43 years, Linda Gardner of Jeffersonville; one daughter, Tammy Abernathy of New Bedford, Massachusetts; one sister, Connie Kelly of Shelbyville; two grandchildren, his beautiful granddaughter Katie Abernathy, and his grandson Zachary Abernathy who was his best friend and fishing buddy, both from New Bedford Massachusetts.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Fischrach and Robert Johnson, and two sisters, Debra Ralph and Janet Morefield.
