Goldie Lewis Rigsby

May 25, 1943 — October 9, 2013

Goldie Lewis Rigsby, 70, of West Liberty, died Wednesday morning, October 9, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Lexington. She was born May 25, 1943 in Zag, Kentucky to the late Clyde Livingston Lewis and Christine Callahan Lewis.

On October 4, 1963, Goldie married Allie Rigsby who preceded her in death in 2005. She spent most of her life working on the farm with her husband while raising their two daughters, Vicky and Angela. Later in life she wrote a science fiction book titled Satan's Paragon. She was an outdoor gal at heart who loved hiking, fishing and taking walks. Goldie possessed an unforgettable spirit with her bubbly personality that would light up a room. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her two daughters, Vicky Doyle of Lexington and Angela Rigsby of Ashland; three grandchildren, Christina Doyle of Winchester, Allie Rigsby of Ashland and Ashley Doyle of Lexington; one great grandchild, Liam Ashley of Lexington; five brothers, Darrell Lewis of Sandy Hook, Clyde Lewis, Jr. (Phyllis) of West Liberty, Richard Lewis (Eunice) of Fairborn, Ohio, Jimmy Lewis of West Liberty, and Steve Lewis (Marvella) also of West Liberty; five sisters, Maxine Rigsby of Frenchburg, Nannie Lewis, Leatha Rigsby, Drema Cox (Donald) all of West Liberty and Connie Hutchinson of Fairborn, Ohio; her beloved dog and faithful companion, Lucy.

In addition to her parents, Clyde and Christine Lewis, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Allie Rigsby; a grandson, Derek Caleb Evans; three brothers, Arlie Lewis, Chester Lewis and Bernard Lewis; two sisters, Emma Jean Engle and Mary Fairchild.

Services are pending at this time.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Goldie's memory to Hospice East, 407 Shoppers Drive, Winchester, Kentucky 40391.
