Reverend Harold Willis Hawks, a devoted family man and passionate minister, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, at his residence in Owingsville, Kentucky. He was born on October 18, 1941, in Jenkins, Kentucky to the late Hubert and Charlsey Hall Hawks.  Harold's love for life and unwavering dedication to his loved ones left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

In his early years, Harold found joy in horseback riding, often accompanied by his faithful equine companion, Girt. He was also an avid turkey hunter, embracing the rugged beauty of nature while honing his skills.  However, it was through his ministry that Harold discovered his true purpose in life. He devoted countless years to serving the Lord, spreading love and compassion through his words and actions. He had a genuine passion for prayer, finding solace and strength in connecting with others on a spiritual level.  Harold will be remembered for his warm and approachable nature. He had a unique ability to connect with people, always offering support and guidance with his straightforward and honest approach. His unwavering principles and unwavering faith made him a pillar of strength and a trusted confidant.  As we bid farewell to Harold Willis Hawks, we take solace in knowing that his spirit lives on in the hearts of all those he touched.

Family was at the heart of Harold's existence. He cherished every moment spent with his wife, sons, and their families. Whether it was attending his grandchildren's milestones, including the joyous arrival of his great-grandchildren, or simply sharing quality time together, Harold's love for his family knew no bounds. He will be deeply missed by his spouse, Sylvia; two sons, Mark Hawks (Wenda) and Jeff Hawks (Jane); grandchildren, Andrew Hawks, Chad Hawks (Beth), Hannah Hawks Bender (Greg), Christen Brabenac (Jimmy) and Caitlin Argento (Steve); great-grandchildren, Joshua Hawks, Benton Bender, Silas Bender, Cy Brabenac, Jay Brabenac, Adalynn Hawks, Peyton Brabenac, Cole Hawks and Claire Hawks; siblings, Bruce Hawks (Rhonda), Jerry Hawks (Geneva), Judy Metejka (Glenn) and Nedra Chapman. 

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Teddy Chapman.  

Services to celebrate Harold's remarkable life will be held at a later date.
