Homer Cecil McCoy, Jr., 69, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday morning, March 10, 2016 at his residence. He was born October 2, 1946 in Mt. Sterling to Homer, Sr. and Virgileen Chandler McCoy.
Homer was a Montgomery County native, a United States Air Force veteran, retired from Allstate as an insurance agent, a member of the First Baptist Church and attended the Living Water Church. Homer was an avid reader, he enjoyed church, hunting and fishing with his sons and most of all, spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; his wife of forty-six years, Sue Ballard McCoy of Mt. Sterling; two sons, Brian McCoy (Lana Jo) and Ryan McCoy (Becky Graham), both of Mt. Sterling; three grandsons, Chandler McCoy, Preston McCoy and Ashton McCoy, all of Mt. Sterling; his father, Homer McCoy, Sr. of Hazard; one brother, Greg McCoy (Teresa) of Clark County.
He was preceded in death by his mother Virgileen Chandler McCoy and his grandparents, Virgil and Laura Chandler.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Love of Paws, 1122 Bunker Hill Road, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, 40353 or to a charity of your choice.
Pastor John Duggins, Pastor Glenn Emery and Pastor Grant Cannoy will be officiating.
