Ivan Dallas "Doc" Dorsey, 64, of Jeffersonville, died Monday, June 3, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital East in Lexington. He was born in Points, West Virginia on July 4, 1948, to Irvin D. and Dorothy C. Dorsey. He married Thelma Baker on October 20, 2003.
Ivan and his family moved to Mt. Sterling in 2006. He worked in the drywall business and lived most of his life in his home state of West Virginia. Ivan loved spending time with his family, he was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, he had a humorous personality and will be remembered for his wonderful laughter.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma Ray Baker Dorsey of Jeffersonville; a son William D. Dorsey of Slanesville, West Virginia; four step children, Penny Bolin (Clayton Watkins) of Jeffersonville, Wesley Baker (Tamara) of Mt. Sterling, Everett Baker and James Baker both of Jeffersonville; ten grandchildren; two brothers John Dorsey (Millie) of Mechanicsville, Maryland and James M. Dorsey; five sisters Miriam Jean Mills (Dick) of Rawlings, Maryland, Fern Montgomery of Points, West Virginia, Frances Loy (John) of Augusta, West Virginia, Mary Ann Dorsey of Points, West Virginia, and Frieda Joann Lahman (Dicky)of Augusta, West Virginia; two half brothers, Robert "Bobby" Dorsey and Edgar Dorsey; a sister-in-law Cebie Dorsey of Orlando, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ivan was preceded in death by two brothers, David P. Dorsey and Charles Edward Dorsey; half brother, Harry Dorsey; two half sisters, Rosie Dorsey Mills and Betty Dorsey Cutlip.
