Ivan Elliott

Ivan Elliott, 74, of Jeffersonville, passed away on September 29, 2012 at his residence. He was born January 4, 1938 in Montgomery County to the late Clyde and Lena Atkins Elliott.

Ivan was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County. He was retired from Ensor Excavating where he was a backhoe and dozer operator. Ivan was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Gateway Church of God. He loved hunting, fishing, farming and running the backhoe. Ivan will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Violet Martin Elliott of Jeffersonville; two sons, Blake Elliott (Sherry) of Jeffersonville, and Glen Elliott (Donna) of Saratoga, Wyoming; one daughter Pam Wynn (Tony) of Frenchburg; one brother, Jerry Elliott (Rosa) of Ohio; five sisters, Josephine Williams of Illinois, Dixie Ousley (Jake) of Ohio, Alma McGuire (Bud) of Ohio, Bonnie Watkins (Grady) of Illinois, and Sue Baker (Morris) of Mt. Sterling; seven grandchildren, Misty Taylor (Paul), Erin Carter (John), Ivan Blake Elliott, Christina Ritchie (Kevin), Tiffany Conway (Chad), Olivia Gronlund (DL) and Kelsie Risner; three great grandchildren, Brooklyn Taylor, Bryce Taylor, and Kaiden Gronlund; two special sister in laws, Mattie Elliott of Jeffersonville, and Bertie Elliott of Camargo; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Herman Elliott, Garry Elliott, David Elliott, Danny Elliott, and Robert Elliott, and a great granddaughter, Arika Gronlund.

Funeral will be Monday, October 1, 2012 at 11:00AM at Gateway Church of God. Visitation will be Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Gateway Church of God. Burial will follow at Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery. Rev. Jessie Rogers and Rev. Bobby Reed will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Kelsie Risner, Ivan Blake Elliott, Robbie Elliott, Chad Conway, John Carter, and Dean Elliott.

Honorary Pallbearers: Wendell Stacy, Ferrell Barnes, Winford Havens, Ron Centers, Morris Baker, Bud McGuire, Grady Watkins, Jake Ousley, Paul Taylor, Kevin Ritchie, and DL Gronlund.
