Jacquelin "Jackie" Mae Smiley Moore, 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the Windsor Care Center. Born on June 19, 1930, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late John and Docia Chappel Smiley. Jackie Mae spent her life nurturing her family and creating a warm and loving home.
A devoted homemaker, Jackie was known for her incredible culinary skills, particularly her famous homemade pies and baked goods, which brought joy to family gatherings. Her passion for cooking was only matched by her unwavering love for her family.
Jackie's deep-rooted faith was evident in her lifetime membership at the Camargo Church of God, where she was active in the Women of the Church of God. Her kindness, generosity, and caring nature touched the lives of many, and she will be fondly remembered for her loving spirit.
An avid fan of Kentucky basketball, Jackie Mae had a zest for life that was infectious. Her joy for the game often brought her family together, creating memories that will last for generations.
Jackie is survived by her children, Brenda Jackson (Lonnie), Barbara Burden (Edwin), Debbie Goodpaster (David), and Randy Moore (Trudi); grandchildren, Lonnie "Mike" Jackson (Heather), Mark Jackson (Jenny), Shelly Sanders-Rogers (Jake), Megan McCormick (Michael), Vance Evans (Christie), Melanie Mann (Randy), Jeremy Moore (Michelle), Scott Moore (April), and Christina Hatton (Russ); twenty-two great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; special sister, Marilyn Nickels; siblings, Barbara Platt, Mary Ellen Weekley, and John Wesley Smiley.
In addition to Jackie's parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Moore; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Reid Evans; grandson, Joshua Burden; brother, Earl Thomas Smiley; grandson-in-law, Mark Sanders.
A private graveside service will be held for Jacquelin "Jackie" Mae Moore at Machpelah Cemetery where family will gather to pay their respects and celebrate a life well-lived. Jackie's grandson, Pastor Mark Jackson will be officiating.
In this time of reflection and remembrance, let us honor the legacy of a remarkable woman whose love knew no bounds.
