James Wesley Duff

February 2, 1926 — November 8, 2012

James Wesley Duff, 86, of Mt. Sterling, died Thursday evening, November 8, 2012 at St. Joseph Mt. Sterling Hospital. He was born February 2, 1926 in Mt. Sterling to the late James and Pearl Duff.

James was a lifelong resident of Montgomery County, a member of the Howards Mill Baptist Church, and he was retired from his own business; Adams Blacktop. James was one of the founders of the Little League Baseball program in Montgomery County and his pastimes were playing poker and watching baseball.

Survivors include; three sons, Jim Duff (Drema) of Jeffersonville, Rusty Duff (Ann) of Mt. Sterling, and Joel Duff of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Geneva Lewis (Bill) of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Alma Jean Haddix (Billy) of Mt. Sterling; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a special friend, Ruby Russell.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Adams Duff, and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral will be Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00AM at the First Christian Church. Visitation will be Monday, November 12, 2012 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the First Christian Church. Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Rev. Shannon Cook and Pastor Lon Oliver will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Brad Turner, Jim Willoughby, Clay Turner, Michael Manns, Chris Manns, and Cam Adams.

Honorary Pallbearers: Harold Markland, Doyle King, Jake Hartgrove, Chris Lewis, Alan Lemaster, and Danny Orme.
