James "Jim" F. Kirk, 81, of Mt. Sterling, died Friday, November 30, 2018 at Baptist Health in Lexington. He was born in Mt. Sterling on July 25, 1937 to the late Milton and Mag Amburgey Kirk.
"Jim" was a native of Mt. Sterling, an Army Reserve Veteran and a member of the Grassy Lick Methodist Church. He will be forever remembered for computerizing the enhanced 911 system for Montgomery County. "Jim" was enthusiastic about Montgomery County Football and only missed 5 home/away games in 40 years. He enjoyed traveling and loved the Disney Character "Grumpy" whom he shared a birthday with. He will be dearly missed by friends and family.
Survivors include; his wife, Joyce M. Kirk of Mt. Sterling; two daughters Lynn Kirk and Cami Cole (Robbie) both of Mt. Sterling; five grandchildren Jerrod Cole and Kelly Cole of Mt. Sterling, Gabriel Kirk of Wilder, James Dakota Kirk of Georgetown and George Wu of Taipei, Taiwan and two nieces Tammy Selleck (John) and Debbie Moore (John) both of Mt. Sterling.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 1:00PM. Visitation will be prior from 11:00AM - 1:00PM. Both will be held at Coffman Funeral Home & Crematory in Mt. Sterling. Pastor Eric Patterson will be officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers: Jerry Peters, Booker George, Violet George, Ann Johnson, Tina Pendleton and Donna Field.
