James "Jimmy" Douglas Webb, 75, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky passed away on Thursday morning, October 21, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. He was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on January 2, 1946 to the late Howard J. Webb and Stella Wilson Webb Weckesser.
Jimmy was a Montgomery County native, a member of First Christian Church, a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and a Veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Mt. Sterling Planning and Zoning Commission, and a Kentucky Colonel. He owned and managed Gateway Freight, a logistics and transportation company. Jimmy enjoyed; tinkering in the garage, he had a project going all the time, he also enjoyed; mowing, golfing, traveling in the R.V. with friends, U.K. basketball and football and especially time spent with his children and grandchildren, keeping up with their sports activities and accomplishments. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years; Susan Faulkner Webb; his son; Jim Paul Webb of Murfeesboro, Tennessee; his daughter; Lauren Green (Frank) of Southlake, Texas; two grandchildren; Emery Green and Collin Green, both of Southlake Texas; one sister; Jeanette Crockett (Gerald) of Richmond; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother; H.J. Webb.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, October 25, 2021. Visitation will be prior from 10:00AM - 12:00PM, both will be held at First Christian Church, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Pastor Scott Holley and Pastor Michelle Ballard will be officiating.
