Janice Lee (Griffin) Douglas

Janice Lee Griffin Douglas, 77, of Independence, died Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.  She was born in Rockcastle County on June 9, 1943 to the late Ernest Lee Griffin and Rissie Louise Murphy Peters.

Janice moved to Independence from from Mt. Sterling in 2013.  She was of the Christian faith and previously a hairdresser.   She took great pride in her family and enjoyed; puzzles, UK basketball, Nascar races and especially her dog "Peanut".   She'll be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son; Lee Preston Griffin (Darla) of Latonia; two daughters; Deborah Waddle (Mitchell) of Deerpark, Ohio and Rhonda Deck (Johann) of Latonia; seven grandchildren; Kayla Lee Griffin of Latonia, Janice Harrison (Mike) of Richmond, Ronica Mefford of Independence, Ciarra Waddle of Deerpark, Ohio, Presley Waddle of Deerpark, Ohio, Nicole Martin of Latonia and Michael Deck (Brittyne) of Latonia; nine great grandchildren; Broukelyn Martin, Brayden Deck, Kalyen Deck, Jax Griffin, Gracelyn Mefford, Mikyla Harrison, Madisyn Harrison, Makynna Harrison and Morgyn Harrison; two brothers; George Griffin (Becky) of Broadhead and Paul "Pete" Peters of Elsmere; one sister; Dora Lee Griffin of Florence.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband Butch Douglas.
