Jerry Wayne Cartmill, 62, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday morning, August 1, 2015, at his residence. He was born November 8, 1952 in Mt. Sterling to the late James and Gladys Toy Cartmill.
Jerry was a Montgomery County native, a retired pharmaceutical rep, a member and a past music director at Dunaway United Methodist Church in Winchester and attended Eastland First Church of God in Mt. Sterling. Jerry had the patience of Job along with a laid back personality. He enjoyed singing, playing the guitar and spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include; his wife of thirty years, Karla Reffitt Cartmill of Mt. Sterling; two sons, Timothy Elam of Louisville and Shawn Elam of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Winnie Toller (Greg) of Lexington and Devin Cartmill Duncan of Florida; two brothers, Shirley Cartmill (Helen) and Robert Cartmill (Karen) both of Mt. Sterling; five grandchildren, Landyn Elam of Mt. Sterling, Zackary Elam, Dylan Elam and Gabrielle Elam and Adam Green, all of Middletown, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Cartmill, Jr., four sisters, Betty Cartmill Myers, Mary Cartmill Hawkins, Virginia Cartmill Willeroy and Patricia Cartmill Williams and three grandchildren, Timmy, Wayne and Brandon Elam.
