Jimmy Donaldson Williamson, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at home on January 25, 2024, at the age of 86. One of nine children, he was born on August 2, 1937, in Huddy, KY, to the late Claude and Minnie Williamson.
Jimmy retired from IBM in 1990. Outside of work, he was an avid golfer and sports fan, following the Cincinnati Reds and the University of Kentucky teams. However, his greatest joy came from coaching his children and grandchildren and attending their athletic events.
Jimmy loved doing home and yard projects, and also enjoyed gardening and birdwatching.
He acted as a deacon at Southern Heights Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky, and proudly served his country as a member of the U.S Army.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and wisdom that will forever be cherished by his son, Greg Williamson (Dana); daughter Kelli Wise (Bruce); grandchildren Calvin Williamson, Ben Williamson, Will Wise (Rachael), Hannah Williamson, Jane Frye (Clark), and Paul Wise; and great-grandchildren Cavan Wise and Palmer Frye. In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63+ years, Betty Williamson and son, Joe David Williamson.
There will be a celebration of Jimmy’s life at a later date.
