Jodi Rae Ortiz

Jodi Rae Ortiz, age 40, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 26, 2021 at home in Frenchburg, KY.  She was born in Martins Ferry, OH on November 19, 1981 to Richard J. and Joni R. Ortiz.

Jodi made Frenchburg home for her family in 2018 so she could be close to her Mom and Dad for support when she first became ill. Jodi is of Catholic faith and kept a positive attitude throughout her illness to provide everything she could for her two little boys and to ensure they would have a great life…she cherished every minute with them.

Jodi is survived by her two precious boys, both of whom she always put first in her life, Brayden Cole Barnes, age 6; Parker James Barnes, age 5; husband, Joshua Barnes of Frenchburg KY; parents, Richard and Joni Ortiz of Frenchburg KY; brother, Ricky (Alisha) Ortiz of Flatwoods KY; she will also be missed by her Uncle Sean (Roberta) Green, nephew JK McKnight, niece Zoey Ortiz and many supportive friends and family.

A Funeral mass will be held at 11:30AM for Jodi at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Mt Sterling on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Visitation will be prior from 10:00AM - 11:30AM.  Father Frank Brawner will be officiating. Interment at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  Memorial luncheon will follow the services at St. Patrick Catholic Church Parish, all are welcome to attend in Jodi's memory.
