Juanita Craycraft Stewart Hart, of Mt. Sterling, died Monday morning, January 20, 2020 at Windsor Care Nursing Home. She was born in Bath County, Kentucky on January 30, 1931 to the late Willie and Eula Donaldson Craycraft.
Juanita was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Mt. Sterling. She worked locally as a nurse at Mary Chiles Hospital and for Dr. McKenna for the entirety of his practice. Juanita enjoyed square dancing, gardening, canning, going out to eat and spending time with her family. Those who knew her best understood she spoke her mind, loved UK Basketball and took great pride in her family. Her friends and family will miss her dearly.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Stewart (Linda) of Mt. Sterling and Bill Stewart (Cathie) of Jeffersonville; two daughters, Mary Cotton of Mt. Sterling and Janice Meadows (Robert L.) also of Mt. Sterling; eight grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her husband's Elliott Stewart, Jr. and Gordon Hart; three brothers, Ollie Craycraft, Carl Wood Craycraft and Charlie Craycraft; six sisters, Eula Jolly, Edith Markland, Mildred Railsback, Dorothy Haney, Nannie Hornback and Anna Craycraft.
Private graveside service to be held at Machpelah Cemetery.
