Karla Ann Reffitt Cartmill, 60, of Mt. Sterling, died Saturday morning, September 26, 2015, at her daughter’s residence in Lexington. She was born November 17, 1954 in Middletown, Ohio to the late Carl and Blanche Hedger Reffitt.
Karla moved to Montgomery County thirty-five years ago from Middletown, Ohio, retired from Quality Manufacturer in the payroll department and attended Eastland First Church of God in Mt. Sterling. Karla enjoyed holidays, animals, gardening, cooking, baking, canning, photography, watching television, annual fall trip to the mountains in Tennessee and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a caring and giving personality and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include; two sons, Timothy Elam and Shawn Elam, both of Mt. Sterling; one daughter, Winnie Toller (Greg) of Lexington; one brother, Michael Reffitt of Belfountain, Ohio and nine grandchildren, Landyn Elam and Eli Lichetti, both of Mt. Sterling, Zackary Elam, Dylan Elam, Gabrielle Elam and Adam Green, all of Middletown, Ohio, Victoria Crawford of Lexington, Tiffany Toller of Burtonville and Madison Roland of Florida.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty years, Jerry Cartmill; one brother, Larry Reffitt and four grandchildren, Timmy Elam, Wayne “Beaner” Elam, Brandon Elam and Sean Elam.
